Ilkeston had to fight hard in this opening fixture, as expected defending champions
Radford set the pace. Credit goes to our team though, the kids swam their hearts out
to take joint third place with Worksop Dolphins. We only had one individual winner,
Jack Smith in the boys 10 year old breastroke. The boys nine year old relay team of
R.Cheesemam, R.Darkins, J.Hall and S.Beardsley won both the freestyle and medley
relays.

Well. Ilkeston were once again drawn against Radford and Leander
and as expected those two clubs claimed the top 2 positions. Well done
to J.Smith our only individual winner with a new PB, the dependable
boys 9 years old relay team secured our only other victory. We did
however have 3 more swimmers obtaining PBs, they were
L.Cheeseman, D.Stanbridge and L.Hutchinson.
